Signing of work order of the Historic Main building
Warm greetings from Serampore College.
I am extremely happy and grateful to inform you that today I have signed the Work Order for the Restoration Project of the Main Building, and handed it over to the selected (by following the e-tendering process prescribed and funded by the Government of West Bengal) Contractor in presence of the members of the Building Committee whoever presence in the campus. Today is a Historic Day and a remarkable milestone. This historic Main Building was constructed by the 1st Principal and founder of the College and after long waiting, by the grace and God and support and cooperation from all corners, the 22nd Principal fulfilled the dreams of all the Serampore College Community, the alumni and all the people who admired Rev. Dr. William Carey around the globe.
After doing all the formalities, the work will start as soon as possible.
Special thanks to the Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal Smt. Mamata Banerjee, the former MIC, Higher Education Dr. Partha Chatterjee, the present MIC Shri. Bratya Basu and all the officials from the Higher Education Department and Finance Department, Government of West Bengal for sectioning the needed fund for the Restoration Project of the Main Building. I also thank all my colleagues, faculty members, non-teaching staffs, students and alumni for their support and cooperation.
